Curriculum Intent Statement
Our small, community school has a broad curriculum because we believe that students should have access to a wide range of subjects. Within those subjects we nurture creativity alongside academic ability to ensure every learner can achieve their limitless ambitions.
The curriculum is spiralled and sequenced to allow students to make links to prior learning in individual subjects and more widely due to cross-curricular planning. Knowledge retrieval is foundational and enables our learners to know more, remember more and do more.
We have a language rich curriculum that develops our students into articulate learners. Literacy and oracy skills are prioritised to engender independent students who are active readers, effective writers and confident speakers.
Our curriculum is culturally rich and embraces British values and diversity; it includes the voices of all people and celebrates their achievements. This is complemented by our personal development curriculum and the character education opportunities we provide.
The first class quality of education at Daubeney Academy ensures our students leave us as healthy and respectful citizens, ready to live safe and successful lives.
